Best padel rackets for intermediate players
8 rackets · prices checked 5 October 2026
Intermediate is the widest category in padel and the least useful label. It covers somebody six months in who has stopped missing the ball, and somebody who has played for five years and wins their club league. Brands use it for anything that isn't a starter racket and isn't the pro model.
What these rackets have in common is that they give you more than a beginner racket (more spin, more pace, a firmer feel) without demanding that you hit the centre every time. Most are teardrops or rounds with a medium balance.
If you know what you want more of, the control and power lists are more specific.
What gets in: Rated by the brand for intermediate players, current season, and no more than £180 delivered.
The order: how many UK shops stock it, then how well it fits the list, then price. We have not play-tested these rackets, so “best” here means best fit on the brand’s published specs at today’s price, and nothing more. No brand or shop pays to be included. We may earn a commission if you buy through a shop link, and where two rackets tie, one we can earn on goes first. How we work.
