Best all-round padel rackets
8 rackets · prices checked 5 October 2026
Teardrop and hybrid rackets sit between round and diamond. The sweet spot is a bit higher than a round racket's and a bit bigger than a diamond's, and the balance is in the middle. They are the rackets for people who play both sides, or who haven't decided what kind of player they are.
That is most of us, which is presumably why teardrops are the biggest part of every brand's range. The risk with a racket that does everything is that it does nothing especially well, and some players find them a bit characterless. I'd take that over a racket that only works when I'm playing well.
What gets in: Teardrop or hybrid shape, described by the brand as versatile, and pitched at intermediate or advanced players.
The order: how many UK shops stock it, then how well it fits the list, then price. We have not play-tested these rackets, so “best” here means best fit on the brand’s published specs at today’s price, and nothing more. No brand or shop pays to be included. We may earn a commission if you buy through a shop link, and where two rackets tie, one we can earn on goes first. How we work.
