Best padel rackets for control

8 rackets · prices checked 5 October 2026

Control rackets are round, with the weight low and the sweet spot in the middle of the face. You give up some pace on the smash. In return the ball goes where you meant it to, the racket is quick to move at the net, and your arm takes less of a beating.

Most points at club level are lost, not won, so there is a decent argument that most club players should be using one of these. They are also what a lot of right-side players on tour use, so this isn't a list of beginner rackets: everything here is pitched at intermediate level or above.

If you want the same thing for a first racket, see the beginners' list.

How this list is made

What gets in: Round, described by the brand as a control racket, and pitched at intermediate players or above.

The order: how many UK shops stock it, then how well it fits the list, then price. We have not play-tested these rackets, so “best” here means best fit on the brand’s published specs at today’s price, and nothing more. No brand or shop pays to be included. We may earn a commission if you buy through a shop link, and where two rackets tie, one we can earn on goes first. How we work.
