Best padel rackets for power

8 rackets · prices checked 5 October 2026

A power racket is a diamond with the weight towards the top. The sweet spot is smaller and higher up, the racket is slower to move, and when you catch a smash properly the ball leaves the court.

They are harder to play with than the marketing suggests. A head-heavy racket with a hard core puts more load on the elbow and punishes off-centre hits, so these suit people who already have a reliable overhead and want more from it. If you are buying one to fix a weak smash, it probably won't; that is usually technique.

Several of these come in a softer or lighter version that keeps the shape and is kinder to the arm. Where we list one, the comparison links at the bottom of the page go to it.

How this list is made

What gets in: Diamond shape, high balance, and pitched at advanced or professional players.

The order: how many UK shops stock it, then how well it fits the list, then price. We have not play-tested these rackets, so “best” here means best fit on the brand’s published specs at today’s price, and nothing more. No brand or shop pays to be included. We may earn a commission if you buy through a shop link, and where two rackets tie, one we can earn on goes first. How we work.
