Who we are

Padeal (padeal.co.uk) is a trading name of Kesters Nook Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with number 12174386. Its registered office is 19 Barnards Way, Kibworth, Leicestershire, LE8 0RS. Kesters Nook Limited is the controller of the personal data described here. You can contact us at hello@padeal.co.uk.

What we collect and why

• Your email address, if you set a price alert. We use it to confirm the alert and then to email you when the racket drops below your price, and for nothing else. A price alert does not sign you up to the newsletter. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw with the link in any alert email.
• Your email address, if you sign up for the newsletter. We use it to send a weekly email about price drops. Legal basis: consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Outbound clicks. When you click through to a retailer we record which racket and retailer, the time, the page you came from, and a hashed, non-reversible version of your browser’s user agent, so we can count clicks without identifying you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which retailers and pages are useful to people.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people use and where they arrive from. It stays switched off unless you agree to it. Legal basis: consent.

We do not ask for your name, we do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and similar storage

Only one thing needs your permission: the Google Analytics cookie, which is set only if you choose Allow. The rest is stored in your own browser because you asked for it: your answer to the analytics question, so we do not ask on every page, and the list of rackets you have added to compare. Neither leaves your device. You can clear them, and change your analytics answer, by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

We do not set advertising cookies, and we do not currently show advertising.

Affiliate links

Most links to retailers go through an affiliate network: Amazon Associates, Awin or Adtraction, depending on the retailer. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click one of these links, the network or retailer may set a cookie on their own site so that a purchase can be attributed to us. That happens on their site and under their privacy notice, not ours. We receive commission reports from the networks, which do not identify you to us.

Our Facebook and Instagram pages

If you follow, like, comment on or message our Facebook page or Instagram account (both @padeal.co.uk), Meta processes that under its own privacy policy. Meta also gives us aggregated statistics about visits to our pages (“Page Insights”). For those statistics we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are joint controllers, under the Page Insights Controller Addendum; Meta takes primary responsibility, including for dealing with your rights requests about that data. We see only the aggregated figures, and anything you choose to send us in a message. We don’t add anyone to a mailing list from social media.

Who processes data for us

• Supabase hosts our database, in its London region.
• Vercel hosts and runs the website, and provides Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies or anything stored on your device and without identifying you.
• Resend sends price alert emails.
• Sender holds the newsletter list and sends the newsletter.
• Google provides Google Analytics, if you allow it.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer relies on the safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK’s adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Email addresses until you unsubscribe or cancel the alert, after which we delete them within 30 days. Click records for 24 months. Google Analytics data for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account, which cannot exceed 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Email hello@padeal.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
