Best padel rackets for tennis elbow and sore arms

8 rackets · prices checked 5 October 2026

No racket treats tennis elbow. If your arm hurts, the things that help are rest, a physio and usually a look at your technique, and I'd put all three ahead of a new racket.

What a racket can do is put less load through the arm while you sort the rest out. Three things matter. A soft core absorbs more of the impact. A low or medium balance means less weight at the far end of the lever. And a lighter racket is simply less to swing. Everything on this list has all three.

That is the reasoning brands and physios generally give, and it is plausible, but I haven't found good trial evidence that any particular racket reduces symptoms, so treat it as sensible rather than proven. More in the guide to padel and tennis elbow.

How this list is made

What gets in: A soft core, a low or medium balance, no heavier than 370 g, and not a diamond.

The order: how many UK shops stock it, then how well it fits the list, then price. We have not play-tested these rackets, so “best” here means best fit on the brand’s published specs at today’s price, and nothing more. No brand or shop pays to be included. We may earn a commission if you buy through a shop link, and where two rackets tie, one we can earn on goes first. How we work.

Padel and tennis elbow: what actually helps

Racket choice matters, but probably less than the internet claims. Here is what the evidence supports and what it does not.
