Best last-season padel rackets still on sale

8 rackets · prices checked 5 October 2026

Padel brands release a new version of every racket every year, and most years not much changes: new paint, a renamed material, sometimes a real tweak to the mould. Meanwhile the shops need to clear the old one.

So last season's top model is often the best value in padel. It was the flagship twelve months ago and is frequently cheaper than this year's mid-range racket. The downsides are that stock is whatever is left, usually at one or two shops, and once it is gone it is gone.

Each racket here was pitched at advanced or professional players when it came out. Where we also list the new version, the comparison link shows what changed and what the gap in price is today. The guide covers when the new one is worth it.

How this list is made

What gets in: A previous-season model that was pitched at advanced or professional players, still in stock at a UK shop.

The order: how many UK shops stock it, then how well it fits the list, then price. We have not play-tested these rackets, so “best” here means best fit on the brand’s published specs at today’s price, and nothing more. No brand or shop pays to be included. We may earn a commission if you buy through a shop link, and where two rackets tie, one we can earn on goes first. How we work.

The reasoning, at more length
Is this year's racket worth it, or should you buy last season's?

New ranges land, old ones drop 30 to 50 per cent, and the difference between them is often paint.
