Pick the Metalbone 3.4 Ale Galan if
- You want more power: a diamond head puts the sweet spot higher, which helps smashes and volleys.
- You want more weight behind the ball: the balance is higher, towards the head.
- You swing fast and want a crisper response: the core is firmer.
- You already hit the ball cleanly: the brand pitches it at strong competitive players.
Pick the Metalbone Team Light 3.4 if
- You want to spend less: it is £60 cheaper delivered today (£109.99 against £169.99).
- You want more control and a bigger sweet spot: a round head is more forgiving on off-centre hits.
- You want it quicker in the hand and easier on the arm: the weight sits lower.
- You want comfort: the core is soft, which gives more help on slow balls and tends to be kinder to the arm.
- You want the more forgiving of the two: the brand pitches it at advanced players, so it asks less of your technique.
Not a factor, because they are the same on both: weight.
